Join us as we sit down with Hannah Strauss, the writer, artist, and creator of the Joe Plant comic series. With 25 years of experience in the TV, film, and animation industries, Strauss has worked as a storyboard artist on iconic series like Captain Planet and the Planeteers, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Ghostbusters, and Bravestar. She has also worked on comedic films like Beverly Hills Ninja and The Crow. However, her passion for biology, ecology and zoology led her to leave the entertainment industry and become a biological technician. During the pandemic, Strauss decided to relieve her boredom by creating the character of Joe Plant, a feature sized screenplay that she turned into a comic book series. She has now published three issues and in this interview, we discuss her journey as a creator, the words of wisdom she learned as a student of Will Eisner and Harvey Kurtzman and much more.
