In this exciting and insightful video, we have John Sollitto as our guest. John is the creator of the webcomic Veritas, and he talks about his career in comics and video games, as well as the inspiration behind Veritas. John and his team have worked hard to bring Veritas to life, and they are proud of their collaboration. Veritas is a contemporary superhero series that is more grounded in reality, with real people behind the masks. Unlike traditional superhero books, Veritas has a more procedural and noir feel to it, with more heart and depth that doesn't rely on decades of convoluted continuity knowledge. Veritas is a self-aware series that can poke fun at itself like the movie Sky High, but also respects its roots like Invincible. The target audience for Veritas spans young adult to adult readers, and it has a realism that grounds the book, without vulgarity and gore being prerequisites for telling a complex story. The campaign is to continue their commitment to getting their issues directly into the readers' hands. They have already finished 12 issues, which are available to read online, but this campaign is to get issues 1-4 printed. These issues are already written, drawn, and colored, so they just need help to get them printed. John also talks about his team, including the artist, colorist, and flatter, and how they have all worked together to bring Veritas to life. He also talks about why they chose Kickstarter for this campaign, despite their previous success on Zoop, and shares his thoughts on crowdfunding platforms. Overall, this video is a must-watch for anyone interested in comics and superheroes, and for fans of Veritas who want to learn more about the series and its creator. John's insights into the creative process, the challenges of crowdfunding, and the inspiration behind Veritas make for an engaging and informative discussion.
